Is the Journalist a 1, a 2, or a 3? – entry no. 13

Thaaank you, now we’re shifting tracks… another day filled with adventure; is it fate or synchronicity? This morning I won a trip to the Bølshavn refuge on Bornholm! Was driving to work and listening to a contest morning radio. I don’t know why I called, but I did and now I won a week’s vacation! It’s supposed to be a marvellous place, a meeting place for artists and scientists, and there are two extra rooms for people that need to take a break from the daily turmoil – that’s obviously me.

And when I got to work and looked in my inbox there was an e-mail from a dream man! Rebekka says it’s a message from the universe to stop my experiment – after all, it’s presenting me with a man who has everything I’m dreaming of. I was taken aback at first because his mail was in my work inbox and not in the inbox of the hotmail account I set up for internet-dating, but it was truly charming… extra points for ingenuity.

Dear Elizabeth, or should I say Dixi?

It wasn’t hard to find you, since you revealed your nickname Dixi in your profile. My network is vast, and I happen to know a woman who knows you. You’re as identifiable as someone whose name is Arkan Spartak. This is me – photo attached. As you can see on my website, I write books – the latest one should be a bestseller ;-) . But most of the time I’m a reporter, and on Sunday I’m off to Cuba for five days to do newspaper and radio correspondence.

Do you want to meet for a cup of java in the next few days?

Love, Arkan

Yes, yes, yes Arkan, I’m on my way. He travels, he’s cheeky, breaks the rules by finding me outside of the dating site – that turns me on. On his website, he writes that he’s into documentaries and reports from abroad, in war zones or other hot spots. And he’s good-looking in a teddy bear way… looking forward to drinks at The Brewery tomorrow at 4 p.m. Sense a romantic-fantasy attack closing in. Good thing my other plans for the day intervened, reminding me that I’m conducting an experiment and I have a date with too-good-to-be-true Michael at five p.m.
